Current Volunteers

Login to the volunteer portal to browse and book your volunteer shifts. The volunteer portal is for registered volunteers who have already attended orientation.

As a Furry Friends volunteer, you may participate with our organization in so many ways:

-Bring a Furry Friend to adoption and special offsite events (e.g. community events, collection drives, fundraisers, etc.)

-Walk dogs, interact with cats, assist our adoption desk and help us put our best face forward to visitors at both our Jupiter Adoption Center and Palm City Ranch.

-Accept donations, organize merchandise, provide customer service and more at our Thrift Boutique.

    We train you for success!

Orientations are held twice each month. During these orientations, we teach you everything you need to know to keep you safe and successful. To become a Furry Friends Volunteer, please fill out an application.

    Volunteer Opportunities for Companies

We offer Corporate Service Days for company groups. Our team will work with you to organize the day(s) and ensure employees are engaged within our program. Please note that Corporate Service Days must be scheduled 2 weeks in advance and that a donation is required. This contribution provides a volunteer experience at one of our locations as well as an investment in our mission.

Corporate Service Days help your employees build relationships with their team, establish goodwill within the community, and improve company culture. Please email mpetersen@furryfriendsadoption.org to schedule your team!

    Teen Volunteer Application

Our teen volunteer program allows teens between the ages of 14-17 the opportunity to work alongside our animal care staff to earn service hours for high school or scholarship opportunities. Each 12 week program is limited to 20 teens. These spots are first come, first served.

What we are looking for in a teen volunteer:

    • Must be actively attending high school
    • Must agree to come in once a week for 3 hours, for their 12 week session; same day, same time, same job they chose (if you would like to add a shift, must get approval from Volunteer Manager)
    • Are comfortable talking to members of the public
    • Are willing to volunteer in selections made especially for teens

If a teen cannot fulfill our program expectations, they will not be accepted into the teen program.

We do require a one-time volunteer fee of $25 that must be paid at the time you attend orientation. This includes a volunteer t-shirt, name-tag and helps cover the cost of volunteer program expenses.

To become a teen volunteer, you will need to sign up for a teen specific orientation. These spots will be first come first served. The orientations are held on the Monday of the last week of the previous group. All applications and info have to be submitted by the Friday of orientation week or you will not be able to start.. Your group will then start on the following Monday.  You will be reminded of your orientation 1 week in advance.

At the end of the 12 weeks, if you would like to stay on as a permanent volunteer, you will need to get approval from the Volunteer Manager as well as the Animal Care Supervisor.

For questions on our teen program, please email volunteers@furryfriendsadoption.org

    Fostering for hours:

If you are fostering for school hours, you will need a parent to sign off and be with you when you pick up your foster. There is a minimum of a two consecutive week commitment to foster. Foster volunteers are required to maintain regular communication, share progress reports, photos, videos, and actively participate in animal promotion.
